How can we help?
Stuck on something, or found a bug? Write to us and a person will answer, usually within two business days.
It helps to include your iPhone or iPad model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it went wrong. Inside the app, Options also has a feedback box.
Common questions
Why can’t I import another recipe?
The free plan includes 10 imports in total, shared between links, pasted text, cookbook photos and videos. My Cookbase Pro raises that to 100 imports a month. Everything else in the app, including your saved recipes, collections, shopping lists and timers, stays free. Adding a link that’s already in My Recipes just opens the saved recipe.
How do I restore or cancel Pro?
To restore a purchase, open the Go Pro screen in the app and tap Restore Purchases. To cancel or change your plan, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Subscriptions are managed by Apple, so cancelling there stops the next renewal.
My recipes aren’t showing on my other device.
Recipes sync through iCloud. Both devices need to be signed in to the same Apple ID with iCloud turned on for My Cookbase (Settings, your name, iCloud). Syncing can take a few minutes, and it needs a network connection.
How do shared collections work?
In Collections, make a Shared collection and invite up to four other people through iCloud. Everyone in it can add and remove recipes, and each recipe says who added it. Your own ratings and notes stay private to you. Anyone can leave a shared collection, and the owner can stop sharing and keep the recipes as a normal collection. Everyone needs to be signed in to iCloud.
What happens to a recipe when I import it?
The recipe text, page, cookbook photo or a few frames of a video are sent through My Cookbase’s server to an AI service (Anthropic) that turns them into clear steps. The server uses them only to produce your result and doesn’t keep them. For a video, the listening and on-screen reading happen on your phone. Your saved recipes live on your device and in your own iCloud. The privacy policy has the full details.
A link won’t import. What can I try?
Some pages can’t be read automatically. Copy the recipe text from the page and paste it into Add a Recipe instead. If a TikTok, Instagram or YouTube post only has its recipe in the video, use Import a video: save the video or screen-record it, and the app reads it on your phone.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes the recipes stored on your device. Recipes synced through iCloud can be removed in Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Storage, My Cookbase. For questions about the usage records kept on our server, write to privacy@mycookbase.app.
